7/16 - Dinner & Shopping with Jen

7/16

Work was boring because I had nothing to do.

Went downtown to Jingan for dinner with Jen! I had xiaolongbao (!!!), shaomai, and xiajiao. It was going to be a magnificent dinner. Except for the fact that my shaomai didn't even have pork in them and was just rice. And my xiajiao weren't the cool clear ones at dimsum... they were just regular shrimp dumplings and had a weird fishy taste to them. Such a disappointing meal. I also had 2 whole giant glasses of soymilk.

We saw these cool, really shiny, donuts. They look like plastic. These ones also have a smiley face on them C:

Prohibit Climbing. Took this pic mainly for the fine feline in the background just chillin on a ledge over the mall.

So yea, we went to buy some souvenirs after dinner, since neither of us had anything to do.

1. The place is called The Face Shop.
2. Their store's sign is a flimsy piece of paper.
3. THERE'S A GIANT TANK OF 10290912 FISH!!!!

As we walked around the mall, we got to the arcade area...

Chinese people take their Crane Game seriously.

This was a different aisle of them. There were so many more, too.

This one crane game had only spongebobs. I might go back for one or ALL of them.

Other arcade games have interesting names.
Coins vs Pumpkins.
Naughty Household.

We didn't end up playing at the arcade because Jen had already been there and won a lot of prizes with Luke. We bought some random stuff and then we were like, "hmm I'm so hot and thirsty... I would love some ice cream right now!"

Yum, my favorite flavor: "Vallina!"

We ended up going to the Hershey's store across the street.

On our way there, this lady who was trying to sell roses to people approached us. She went up to Jen and kept trying to persuade her to buy a rose, and Jen kept refusing. We walked by her, and the lady stuck a rose in Jen's purse. Then, she kept following us being like, "hey... please donate some money for my present." Jen was like, "tf? where did this rose come from?" and tried to hand it back to the lady, but she wouldn't take it. SO I TOOK THE ROSE AND THREW IT ON THE GROUND AND TOLD THE LADY TO GO AWAY.
I AIN'T PART OF YOUR SYSTEM!!! I'M AN ADULT!!!!!

I think I am lactose intolerant because I get crazy sharp stomach pains whenever I have anything dairy, but come on, it's ice cream. Who passes up ice cream? I figured maybe I could get a dark chocolate ice cream, and it would have less dairy than a milk chocolate ice cream. Well, I saw dark chocolate on the menu and ordered it... then realized that it was a chocolate drink, not an ice cream or milk shake. It was like a hot chocolate, except cold. Still tasted decent! I have misread menus and ordered wrong so many times in Shanghai. -_-" This time was kinda my own fault though since the menu was in English....
