6/28 - Jingan and Chris's House

6/28

We went to the Jingan [downtown] office. It was my first time at the downtown office! So exciting! And, it was my first time at Jingan Temple! Double exciting!

My building: Eco city!

We were up on the 20th floor. I sat with Jen, and we hung out. And, Rachel gave me a really tedious excel assignment. I had to match orders in two different files and find errors/dissimilarities. It sounds easy, except for the fact that they call the same items different names, there were a lot of things wrong, some of it was in Chinese, there were a ton of things, etc.

Anyway, we went out to lunch at a Japanese place, and the salmon I had was pretty good. Then, the coworkers were all like, "let's get ice cream!!!!" Since ice cream is my second favorite food, I was so excited. SO EXCITED.
Then I found out that we were getting durian  ice cream.
I had never (and still haven't) ever eaten a durian, so I had no clue what to expect.

I still live by my personal mantra that food, no matter how weird, is made because people eat it. And therefore, people must enjoy it. It follows that I should be open to all food because I should enjoy it.

I think my logic is flawed somewhere because this mindset has failed me multiple times before (e.g. liverwurst).

So, I was even more excited that I was trying a new ice cream flavor. I mean, it's ice cream. How bad could it be, right?????!!! RIGHT?!!??!!?
NO.
NO.
WRONG.

I agreed that I would eat Jen's if she didn't want hers. She took a lick and realized that it was disgusting and handed it to me. It looked so good (but smelled so bad). It had so much potential.

It looks tasty like vanilla ice cream...

Perhaps the grossest thing I have ever tasted. I never thought that anything in ice cream form could be so bad. I almost gave up ice cream entirely after eating two of these. Yeah, I still finished both cones... Who knows why.

This poor guy, and any other person with the same job, has one of the worst jobs on the planet. Literally just stands at the door. Doesn't greet anyone, doesn't need to open any doors (duh, the doors are automatic), doesn't talk to anyone.

After work, Chris came and picked me up!!!!! I went to dinner with him and his family (and found out he has a brother). We went to a really sweet Italian restaurant; it was delicious!

Afterward, we went to a DVD store near his house, but didn't see anything we liked. Chris has seen every single movie ever made. So, we went back to his house and watched Olympus has Fallen. The movie was alright, but Chris's house is awesome!

Portrait I found of the Ng children.

ME AND CHRIS!!!! <3333333

Chris's bathroom has the coolest electric toilet with bidet. I did not try out the bidet... yet.

Slept over at Chris's house!
